Keukenhof Gardens: The Second Time
I saw it on the way in.
Would it feel the same on the way out?
Or had I been tuliped out for the day?

I know that color. I had been once before, years ago, with my younger sister, long before I ever thought of myself as a gardener.
It did. But it was better.
The flowers looked unreal. Like walking through a Willy Wonka set—for flowers.
The colors, saturated.
The combinations—eye candy.

I was delightfully exhausted by the end of the day and knew I’d be back again.
Some of the first flowers I planted in my Easter Egg Bed were tulips and daffodils with muscari.
